A small program, by choice

Two litters a year, and we say no a lot.

We breed for working ability and calm domestic life. Neither should come at the expense of the other.

Larkspur Hollow is a fictional German Shepherd program made for this demo. Our dogs train, hike and herd the occasional goat on fifteen acres outside town.

We keep a small number of dogs, train every one of them, and breed only when a pairing earns its place.

Larkspur Hollow Shepherds

Raised here, not housed here

A home before a kennel.

Fifteen acres. Two whelping rooms. No kennel runs. Litters are whelped in the house, with the sounds and rhythms of everyday life around them.

Visitors by appointment from week four. We'll show you where it all begins.

The right home matters

“Larkspur Hollow was the only breeder who told us what our dog would not be good at. Three years in, they were right about all of it.”
